After nearly four decades of service, NSW Police officer Senior Constable Kenneth Anderson (pictured) of Wee Waa Police Station has retired.
Oxley Police District held a marching-off ceremony to honour the distinguished officer who dedicated so many years to the NSW Police Force.
District Inspector Robert Dunn said Senior Constable Anderson’s years of distinguished service and achievements were formally acknowledged during the ceremony, including his receipt of the Order of Australia and Australian Police Medals in 2013, and his ANZAC of the Year award in 2003.
Insp Dunn said Snr Cst Anderson had commenced his career with the NSW Police Force at the Police Academy in August 1982.
“He spent time at Cabramatta and the Liverpool District before transferring to Wee Waa in the Oxley Police District in November 1985,” Insp Dunn said.
He said Snr Cst Anderson had a profound impact on the Wee Waa community during his time there.
“Being a police officer is not just about putting on a uniform, it is about being entrenched in the community,” he said.
“I think you’ve provided the model of what all our police should be as far as our community goes.
“Your commitment to us as an organisation has been outstanding – 37 years is a marvellous effort,” Insp Dunn said.
