The Digital Transformation Agency (DTA) has renewed its memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA) in a signal of cooperative strength between the public sector and ICT industry.

Chief Executive of the DTA, Randall Brugeaud (pictured) said that under the agreement, the DTA and AIIA would continue to exchange information, experiences and expertise to achieve better outcomes for people and businesses using Government services.

“Industry plays a key role in the Government’s digital transformation journey,” Mr Brugeaud said.

“It has a wealth of knowledge and experience that can assist Government in improving services for people and businesses in Australia,” he said.

“Government must continue to work with industry to eliminate barriers and improve transparency so that all businesses, regardless of size, can contribute.”

Chief Executive of the AIIA, Ron Gauci said the renewal of the MoU demonstrated the continued commitment between Government and industry to collaborate and share expertise.

“Collaboration between industry and Government is imperative to drive innovation and improve Government services,” Mr Gauci said.

“The AIIA and our members look forward to continuing to contribute to the digital transformation of Government services.”

Mr Brugeaud said that to date, the MoU had helped facilitate industry engagement and consultation for initiatives such as digital sourcing reform, the Digital Transformation Strategy and capability development.

“The renewed MoU enhances opportunities for collaboration and continues to enable the information industry to take an active role in delivering customer-focused improvements in Government service delivery,” he said.
