Andy Penn is the CEO of Telstra and braved the crowd for his address to the National Press Club in Canberra last week berating the broadband prices that had doubled since the rollout and were set to rise again – but he didn’t make us any the wiser on the chunks of money Telstra gets from the system.
We all own the NBN. Yes that means us, the taxpayers and desperados seeking newer, better and more complex equipment to take up more time than is humanly possible, intent on bigger, better, brighter technology.
How do people find time between their day-to-day lives to feed the monsters that demand so much time and effort?
And what happened to good old fashioned chatting and less time seeking the 15 minutes of fame on a screen?
I watch always with feigned interest in the activities of all who can’t put their phones down to listen and connect to each other.
I take photographs, lots of them, with a file that would overwhelm most but can see an implosion of the visual with its tabloidesque commentary and avoid them with relish.
But faster speed on the computer would make life easier.
Someone should sort this all out, best I ask the kids ‘cos they talk the lingo.
