The Australian Public Service Commission (APSC) is planning to establish a social media presence for the whole of the Australian Public Service (APS) and is seeking content from Departments and Agencies.

In a statement, the APSC said that earlier this year APS Commissioner Peter Woolcott suggested the Commission publicly share stories of success, innovation and change across the entire APS.

“The APSC is now working to establish a social media presence for the whole of the APS, starting with two new APS accounts: @AusPublicService on Facebook and @PublicServiceAU on Twitter,” the Commission said.

“With 150,000 employees and more than 100 Agencies, this is no small task.”

The Commission’s statement called for stories and photos to properly represent the diversity and breadth of what the APS did.

“Check out the accounts and follow or like to keep across what’s happening around the country,” it said.

“If you have a story you’d like to share with your APS colleagues drop us a line at [email protected].
