City grants to spruce up Civic

The City Renewal Authority is seeking input from the public on how to improve public spaces of Civic, Braddon and Acton.

Announcing the latest round of City Grants, Chief Executive of the Authority, Malcolm Snow said a new structure for the program made it simpler to apply and would give applicants for larger grants extra time to carry out their plans.

“We have made some adjustments to allow recipients of Tier Two grants a whole year to undertake their activity rather than six months as in previous rounds,” Mr Snow said.

“We think giving a little extra flexibility will be beneficial when it comes to planning and undertaking more ambitious and exciting projects.”

He said the Authority was looking for applications for Tier One grants of up to $10,000 and Tier Two grants of up to $50,000.

“Tier One grants will need to be delivered by the end of 2019, with another round opening later in the year for activity in the first half of 2020,” Mr Snow said.

“Tier Two grant winners will now be able to undertake their activity anytime within 2019-20.”

He said the Authority had already supported some fantastic projects in previous rounds and was trying to make the process even more accessible to the talent in the region.

He said the City Grants were funded by the City Centre Marketing and Improvements Levy.
