A breakdown of the latest appointments in the Australian Public Service, the wider public sector and across the public services of the states and territories.

APS Senior Executive Service

Band 1

Vanessa Boyley has been appointed as Chief Governance Officer in Defence Housing Australia.

Vandana Singh and Cedric Ingra have been appointed as national managers in Services Australia.

Christopher Lim has been appointed as Assistant Secretary for Procurement, Contracts and Project Management in the Department of Parliamentary Services.

Nathanael Lee has been appointed as a branch manager in Safe Work Australia.

Band 2

Monita Lal has been appointed as general manager in Services Australia.

Tiali Goodchild has been appointed as First Assistant Secretary for Skilled and Temporary Visa and Capability in the Department of Home Affairs, effective from 31 July.

Other federal appointments

Deputy vice-chancellor of James Cook University Professor Martin Nakata has been appointed as the new chair of the Northern Australia Indigenous Reference Group (IRG).

Damien Djerrkura and Alinta McGuire have been appointed to the board of the IRG, alongside returning members Troy Fraser, Nini Mills and Flora Warrior.

States and territories

Dr Arnagretta Hunter has been appointed as the new chair of the ACT Climate Change Council for a three-year term.

Other appointees to the council are Stephen Mudford, Madison Barancewicz, Dean Spaccavento, Professor Jacki Schirmer, Associate Professor Rebecca Colvin, Dr Rosemary McFarlane and Dr Heinz Schandl.

The Queensland Government has appointed Simon Crooks as the new CEO of the Games Independent Infrastructure and Coordination Authority (GIICA) for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Nine new members have been appointed to the Queensland Government’s new Small and Family Business Ministerial Reference Group. The group is chaired by Minister for Small and Family Business Steve Minnikin, and includes Phil Di Bella, Stacey Head, Tyler Krogh, Pauline Pickering, Martin Roller, Leanne Rudd, Angela Scott, Terry Slaughter and Joe Andon.

Paul Taylor has been appointed as the new chair of the Queensland Art Gallery Board of Trustees, which oversees the Queensland Art Gallery/Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA). Mr Taylor replaces Professor Emeritus Ian O’Connor, who recently stepped down from the role.

The Queensland Government has announced the new board of the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games Organising Committee. It comprises president Andrew Liveris, State Sports Minister Tim Mander, Federal Sports Minister Anika Wells, Brisbane Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner, Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate and Sunshine Coast Mayor Rosanna Natoli.

It also includes International Olympic Committee member Jess Fox, International Paralympic Committee Board member Robyn Smith, Australian Olympic Committee president Ian Chesterman, Australian Olympic Committee Honorary Life President John Coates, Paralympics Australia president Grant Mizens, director of Racing Queensland and deputy chancellor of Griffith University Rebecca Frizelle, former golfer Greg Norman, former Paralympic athlete Kurt Fearnley, and former Olympian Georgia Baker.

Lara Dalton has been appointed as the new chair of Western Australia’s Mid West Development Commission.

David Caddy has been appointed as chair, Bianca Sandri as deputy chair, and Cath Hart as a commissioner to lead Western Australia’s City of Nedlands. WA Local Government Minister Hannah Beazley appointed the commissioners to fulfil the role of the council after more than half of its positions became vacant.
