Most impressed by Canberra’s kids who protested in Garema Place making it clear that we ‘big kids’ must get some kind of policy on Climate Change.
Yes there was plenty of criticism by their leaders but who can deny them the right to have a say?
And say it they did.
Intelligently, sensibly and with passion that youth brings to debates that is absent in the powers that be.
They spoke well, sang and supported the issue and even tried to give Scott Morrison a call.
We have to listen.
It’s their planet, they’ll inherit it and they seem to care more than the grown-ups.
If it’s a day off that can make those grown-ups take notice, give the youth as much time as they need.
To finish a week of hope with the kids protesting, and horror in New Zealand that left us numb.
With bunches of flowers left to honour them at New Zealand’s High Commission, up the road at the Embassy of Ireland, after condolences, it was on to toast St Patrick in the time honoured way with Guinness and good company.
