The West Australian Government will soon accept expressions of interest (EOI) for a new private marina development in Rockingham.

The new marina is planned for the intersection of Rockingham Beach Road and Wanliss Street and is intended as an asset for the community and visitors.

“This development will be an asset to boat owners as well as the wider local community and will attract new visitors to our stunning city,” Rockingham MLA Magenta Marshall said.

“Rockingham is home to the best beaches in WA and this marina will maximise our tourism potential while creating local jobs.”

The government says Rockingham is an ideal site for a future marina because of the demand for vessel docking, the coastal lifestyle of the community, and the growing population of Perth and the southern suburbs.

“The Cook Government is committed to a marina in Rockingham for the community and has requested DoT [Department of Transport] to identify a new proponent through an expression-of-interest process in 2025,” Assistant Transport Minister David Michael said.
