ACT Policing has launched a recruitment drive for new members with the skills and qualities needed to be community policing officers.
The initiative is part of the Australian Federal Police’s Unique Opportunities Remarkable Careers recruitment campaign which launched on 24 January.
Recruitment is open to anyone over 18 who meets the minimum eligibility requirements.
Chief Police Officer for the ACT, Ray Johnson said ACT Policing wanted a workforce that reflected the diversity of the community.
“It takes motivated individuals to be community police officers,” Chief Police Officer Johnson said.
“You will see the best and worst of society but each day you will get an opportunity to contribute positively to people’s lives and the greater good of our community.”
He said the Australian Federal Police (AFP) was also unique in that it is the only law enforcement Agency in Australia that provides the ability to work locally through ACT Policing, as well as the opportunity to work in national investigations and international law enforcement.
He said that for the current intake, recruit positions were available for Police Officers in ACT Policing and for Protective Service Officers.
Candidate information packs for both roles are available from the AFP Careers page at this PS News link with the recruitment campaign to end on 21 February.
