Two members of the Department of Finance, Dave Morton and Brad Cook, have won an award from the Australasian Evaluation Society (AES) for an article published in the Evaluation Journal of Australasia.
The pair’s winning paper, Evaluators and the Enhanced Commonwealth Performance Framework, was published in September of this year.
President of the AES, John Stoney and Past President Lyn Aldermen presented Mr Morton and Mr Cook with their award at the Department of Finance in Canberra (See picture).
Mr Stoney said the prize recognised the published paper’s contribution to the Australian evaluation community.
“The award is significant within the evaluation community and it’s not often we give this one out, so it demonstrates the quality Brad and Dave produced,” Mr Stoney said.
The two PS employees said they felt honoured to receive the award.
“We feel privileged to be given the opportunity to publish in a peer reviewed publication,” Mr Morton said.
“We were surprised and humbled when we learned our efforts were recognised with a distinguished award.”
The Evaluation Journal of Australasia supports the aims of the AES in promoting the theory, research and practice of evaluation.
It publishes articles of professional merit on any subject connected with evaluation, together with book reviews and examples of professional practice that will be of interest to members.
It is published quarterly.
