Little Mix are four young English women who could be viewed as the latest iteration of The Spice Girls.
They’re a vocal ensemble that presents a positive image for young girls to aspire to.
They have talent.
They are individually gifted singers who blend together well and they write a good percentage of their own material.
Their lyric content stresses positive attitudes and self-confidence encouraging young women to take control of their lives, to be pro-active and to value themselves.
For this album they have worked with an A-list of writers and producers including Ed Sheeran, Camille Purcell, Jess Glynne, MNEK and Timberland to develop a series of songs that many are claiming to be their strongest work to date.
The girls themselves feel that this is the best collection of their songs that they’ve ever produced. “The album we always wanted to make.”
The album’s first single, A Woman Like Me, featuring Nicki Minaj has an engaging reggae beat and it immediately hit No 1 on iTunes around the world.
It’s one of the most played songs on Australian radio at the moment.
There is a variety of different styles of music on the album from pop, rock, reggae, through to soul and hip hop and the girls move effortlessly between all of them.
Little Mix has sold more than 45 million records worldwide and notched up a total of four No 1 singles, four platinum albums and nine platinum singles, surpassing the record set by The Spice Girls.
Their last album, Glory Days, is the biggest selling album by a female group this millennium in the UK plus it was named as the longest reigning Top 40 album for a girl group EVER so you could say that they have well and truly surpassed the Spice Girls in the race to the top of the girl group list.
This release is the deluxe version and it is 18 tracks in length.
It includes four tracks that are only available on this album; Forget You Not, Woman’s World, The Cure (Stripped) and Only You.
