Perth City Council has announced an action-packed program for the winter school holidays.
Headlining the City’s winter events calendar is the Perth premiere of the world-renowned Lightscape, which transforms Kings Park into a wonderland of light, colour and sound.
Lord Mayor, Basil Zempilas said the global phenomenon was bound to amaze and delight people of all ages.
“We’re so proud to be supporting Lightscape’s first Perth show, illuminating our City of light, night after night,” he said.
“The magical 1.8 kilometre trail through Kings Park is already receiving rave reviews, and they’re well deserved because it’s truly an incredible experience that the whole family will enjoy.”
He said the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre would be transformed into a winter wonderland, with everything from the City of Light Ice Rink to snow slides and carnival rides.
“Then, of course, anticipation will be building ahead of the FIFA Women’s World Cup as Perth celebrates its role as a host city,” Mr Zempilas said.
“The FIFA Women’s World Cup Trophy will be welcomed during a celebration at Forrest Place on 7 July.”
The Lord Mayor encouraged the community to get behind the Matildas as they represented Australia on the world stage.
