Public transport best to fly to Easter Show

Easter Show-goers are being urged to plan their trips and use public transport as huge crowds attend the Sydney Royal Easter Show.

Chief Operations Officer at Transport for NSW (TfNSW), Howard Collins said public transport was the best option for families travelling to the Easter Show.

“Leave the car at home and hop on board one of the many extra trains and major event buses running to and from Sydney Olympic Park each day of the show,” Mr Collins said.

“Travel to the Easter Show is made even easier for ticketholders with the cost of travel on all modes of public transport included in event tickets – just show your ticket to Transport staff when boarding services,” he said.

“Consider catching regular route buses to nearby train stations and continuing your trip by train.”

Mr Collins encouraged people to buy their Easter Show tickets online as there was a strict cap on daily tickets.

He said tickets were not available for purchase on board transport services, at train stations or at the venue.

“Sydney Olympic Park major event buses will run each day during the show,” the COO said.

“Express and limited stop trains will run regularly to Sydney Olympic Park from Central and key western line stations each day during the show.”

Mr Collins said that if ticketholders’ only option was to drive to the Easter Show, it was essential to pre-book parking online and allow extra travel time.

“Pre-book your parking online in advance to secure a spot because Olympic Park car parks are expected to sell out,” he said.

“If you’re driving to the show, carpool with your group and aim to arrive early because traffic will be heavier than usual on roads approaching Sydney Olympic Park – particularly during the long Easter weekend.

“Alternatively, there are a number of large car parks along key train and Metro lines where you can connect with frequent trains and buses to Olympic Park.”
