The Reid campus of the Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) is to hold an open day this Saturday (31 August) to invite prospective students to discover its nearly 300 courses and start their CIT journey.

Executive Director of CIT, Paul Ryan said the Institute was the premier vocational education and training (VET) provider in the nation’s capital.

“VET is a significant post-secondary study option delivering qualifications that facilitate pathways to the workforce,” Mr Ryan said.

“Deciding [on] a post-secondary education path is a serious decision and our Open Day can help parents and students better understand that if you are looking to graduate with work-ready skills.”

He said CIT’s industry connections enable students to undertake apprenticeships and internships for a combined learning experience at CIT and in the workplace.

He said CIT’s curriculums rely on the expertise of industry leaders such as the Global Wind Organisation and AustCyber on the development and delivery of courses that prepare students for the careers of the future in emerging sectors including, renewables and cyber security.

“CIT delivers training to over 25,000 students each year, touching more lives post-secondary school than any other tertiary education institution in the ACT,” Mr Ryan said.

He said the Open Day would run from 9 am till 3 pm.
